Scott & Co.

I would be remiss if I were to leave this beautiful city without doing one or two or ten 5 Heart Ratings!

Let’s start with the very first experience I had dining out alone, sitting at the bar. I didn’t realize it was happy hour and didn’t really take advantage of it but heard all about it from a 35-year Martha’s Vineyard chef sitting right next to me. He and his wife were on a Southwest USA road trip and were currently visiting Tucson. The couple next to them had just become engaged. Literally.

He raved about the Gnocchi. And chowed down quite enthusiastically on the Fried Cauliflower. I’m going back for the Stack of Grilled Cheese.

But let me back up a bit here. This place has the coolest vibe. Beginning with the very courteous young lady whom I spoke to on the phone prior to my visit. And remembered me when I arrived! 47 Scott is the restaurant right next and connected to Scott & Co. The bar, as their website also suggests, reminds me of a speakeasy. The craft cocktails, prepared by the very capable bartender who has been with 47 Scott and Scott & Co. for 3 years (that tells you a lot right there). My Paloma was delish!

The atmosphere is clearly well thought-out and sets the tone for an intimate dinner or vibrant party, whichever suits you. Take your pick – eat in the restaurant, in the bar, or at the bar like I ALWAYS do. There’s a parking garage right across the street too.

Here’s their website:
