Los Olivos Wine Merchant Cafe

If you find yourself in the Paso Robles Wine Region, be sure to take the 40 minute drive to Los Olivos. You can easily spend a day sipping wines at the many tasting rooms. I’d also suggest you check out the church. That’s right, the church! St. Mark’s in-the-valley Episcopal Church not only has a Labyrinth surrounded by the most beautiful roses you will ever see, but also has the ONLY public restrooms in Los Olivos. (This, due to plumbing and water usage restrictions locals are happy to tell you about when you visit.) And the restrooms have beautiful hand soaps and moisturizers for visitors!

For a moment there I almost forgot this 5 Heart Rating is about the cafe!! Really, truth is, Los Olivos should get a 5 Heart Rating as well. People are super friendly, shopping is great, and even the town accupuncturist was awesome! (Ask me about it if interested.)

Los Olivos Wine Merchant Cafe – yes, this is the restaurant featured in the popular movie, Sideways, but please don’t mention this to the locals, and especially at the restaurant. (I’d read this bit of advice when researching restaurants and later found it a bit funny that one of the featured selections on the menu was named “Sideways”. I was afraid to order it!)

The atmosphere at the cafe is very warm and welcoming and the food is delicious! The wine list is huge but staff is very knowledgeable and well-equipped to make recommendations.

I don’t like to get into too much detail here on 5 Heart Rating so I’ll just leave you to experience the wonderful gem on your own. Here’s a link to their website:
