Injera Restaurant, NYC

UnknownUnknown-1I had never had Ethiopian food until just recently when my daughter suggested Injera which is nestled between West Village and the Meatpacking District of Manhattan.

This unique restaurant is excellent on many levels. The food is fantastic, the atmosphere, cozy and friendly, and the service, provided entirely by the beautiful owners, is impeccable. Even the cocktails were unique and made with fresh ingredients by a master mixologist.

The night we were there entertainment was provided by a young vocalist on a guitar. He was absolutely fantastic!

If you don’t like to eat with your hands, Ethiopian food may not be for you, but if you do or you want to give it a try, I highly recommend you start with Injera. Injera is named after the bread used to eat the dishes made out of the smallest grain in the world, Teff. I have had a lot of different kinds of bread in my life and I have to say Injera is the most unusual.
