From “the most dangerous street in America” to “one of the best streets in America”, what a difference a century makes!

Historic 25th Street in Ogden, Utah, once rumored as too tough for Al Capone, was a very pleasant find on a trip to Utah. When I’d planned an #itsnotabouttheyoga trip to Ogden everyone said, “Ogden, not Park City?” Yep, I chose Ogden and I am so glad I did.

Granted, Park City has a lot to offer. At a price. I can confirm its reputation for being very expensive – I paid more for a glass of wine there than the whole bottle would cost in a store.

When researching the area I thought Ogden seemed pretty cool. Turned out I was right. Especially 25th Street. We could have spent a couple days just there. So many cool shops and restaurants – Rooster Brewing Co., Making Scents Emporium, The Needlepoint Joint, Union Station, just to name a few and all of which received their own 5 Heart Rating on their own merit.

If you want a thorough education on the history of the street see the owners at Making Scents Emporium. You may even get lucky and they’ll take you on a personal tour below the street where you can actually see ghosts. Not kidding.

So the next time you visit Park City you may want to try a day trip to Ogden. Or even better yet, visit Ogden and take a day trip to Park City.
