I say “specifically on audio!” because this is the most entertaining narration I have experienced out of hundreds of audiobooks over the last decade or so. The book itself of course, is brilliant, I mean come on! It’s Ephron, the creator of Sleepless in Seattle, You’ve Got Mail, and When Harry Met Sally. But the biggest takeaway from this novel about marriage and breakup is Meryl Streep’s  narration. The cadence, inflection, timing, etc., of her reading of this book is pure perfection and shows just how dimensional a good audiobook can be when the narrator is so good. I don’t know how Nora Ephron got her to do the narration. Maybe they’re good friends? I’ve learned Streep has narrated several books since of course, I Googled “Books narrated by Meryl Streep” as soon as I finished this book. I didn’t want it to end!
If you do get this audiobook (I recommend the Libby App, another 5 Heart Rating), please let me know what you think! It’s been a while since I’ve done a 5 Heart Rating. Maybe the excitement of this one will prompt me to get to the long list I have waiting in the wings!
