On a visit to Florida last year with my children the Gumbo Limbo Nature Center was certainly a highlight of the trip. Highly recommend a visit to this well-run, educational experience.

The center is clearly dedicated to the preservation of our natural environment and wildlife resourcesĀ . The volunteers and staff are extremely knowledgeable and demonstrate a sincere love and dedication for their work. Gumbo Limbo’s website touts itself as a coastal and marine experience unlike any other and I could not agree more.

Here’s a photo of an actual turtle nest my awesome nephew and I came upon when walking along the beach in Florida a couple years ago. He spotted the nest way before I did and knew so much about it. He was only 11 years old at the time! I was amazed how much he taught me about turtles, specifically the nest. Did you know the number of eggs in a turtle nest is referred to as a clutch?
