UPDATE: It is with great sadness to say that David suddenly passed recently. My sincere condolences and appreciation to his family that so generously shared him with the world. The life of a stand-up is not easy. And I’m certain there were many sacrifices made by his beautiful wife and children so that he could bring laughter to many. I am so grateful we got to see him.
I’ve seen my fair share of stand-up. Mostly at intimate venues such as Laugh Boston where we saw David A. Arnold. We were loosening restrictions regarding the pandemic and I’d wanted to laugh so I checked out Laugh Boston’s line-up, did a bit of research on Arnold and the venue to make sure COVID protocols were being enforced, and got tickets.
David A. Arnold has an Instagram account but he is WAAAAAAAYYYYYYY funnier in person. Just trust me on this. Many live performances by comedians including Tig Notaro, Trevor Noah, Leanne Morgan, and Fortune Feimster, made me laugh. A lot. But still not as much as I laughed at David A. Arnold. This guy is genuinely laugh-out-loud funny. And even better, I was with my adult children and it made me so happy to watch them belly laugh right along with me. I’ve actually never seen them laugh so hard.
David Arnold is on tour now and you may be able to catch him in a city near you. Here’s a link to his tour schedule. Get ready to laugh!

PS Laugh Boston is the best comedy show venue I have ever experienced. It’s big with huge floor-to-ceiling windows on one side, service is great, and there’s not a bad seat in the house!
