Coursera.org

Coursera, founded in 2012 by Stanford professors Andrew Ng and Daphne Koller, online courses, specializations, and degrees in a world-wide online learning platform by major universities such as University of Alberta, Johns Hopkins University, Yale, University of Michigan, Stanford, London Business School, and even the Museum of Modern Art!

My daughter found Coursera and attained certifications from three different universities in less than a month. I am currently finishing up a course about mountains through the University of Alberta, Mountains 101. It is so fascinating! I can’t believe how much I have learned about mountains, their environments, their effects on environments and civilizations, etc.

My daughter and I both are also beginning a certification course through Yale University entitled “The Science of Well-Being”. This course was created by Professor of Psycology Laurie Santos and now holds the record for the most-enrolled class ever in the history of college-level courses, currently 2.5 million.

Coursera offers a plethera of courses including many free ones. Some with certifications, some without.

If you’re looking to use this time to gain some knowledge, get certified in something, or just for the entertainment value, I highly recommend checking out Coursera at coursera.org.
