Ya you heard that right! Squatty Potty for the win!!
I’m probably not put off by the whole bodily function thingy as maybe most Americans probably a lot due to my exposure to the Japanese culture. And since I’m fairly preoccupied with anything health-related, the whole conversation regarding the importance of elimination is important to me.
So when I visited my niece’s new home a few years ago and asked about their squatty potty, I came back and did some research and ended up buying the bamboo version on Amazon. I love it!!
You can find all kinds of information related to the benefits of this tool and even more regarding the reasons sitting on a standard toilet is no good. But here’s a brief explanation that I will agree with:
“Squatty Potty” toilet stools create healthy toilet posture to relieve and prevent constipation in the following ways: In the squatting position, gravity does most of the work. … Squatting relaxes the puborectalis muscle, allowing the anorectal angle to straighten and the bowel to empty completely.
Also, reasearch shows the fact that the lowest incidence rates of colorectal cancer are found in India, Asia, and Africa. What do these cultures all have in common? More squatty, less potty.
