Waking Up App
July 15, 2020 by Jean Oshima
When the Waking Up App was recommended to me it was a while before I actually took a look at it. Boy do I wish I had done so sooner! I can’t say enough good things about this app. Not only does it have what I call “real meditation” on a daily basis but there are other bonus features in this app that I absolulely love.
Sam Harris, an American author, philosopher, neuroscientist, and podcast host created this unique app. What makes it unique, well let me just quote directly from Filed Under: 5 Heart Rating
Somebody Feed Phil
July 5, 2020 by Jean Oshima
It's been a while since I've so enjoyed a food-related series. Once Anthony Bourdain hit the scene, all other food shows seem to pale in comparison. Until now.
Phil Rosenthal, the creator and writer of the hit television series, Everybody Loves Raymond, which I have actually never seen, created and stars in a wonderfully entertaining, educational, inspiring, eye-opening, horizon-broadening series on Netflix called Somebody Feed Phil.

Smile Products
July 3, 2020 by Jean Oshima
Update: I had to come back and add a note here. I am in the middle of a "chat" with a representative from Smile Products because I want something they are sold out of. Gotta say it's been a long time since I've had this kind of customer service experience. Plus, the chat is with a real person! A really really nice, well-trained person!! See for yourself. Try their products!
Makes me smile just thinking about Smile Natural Products. And as I run my tongue across my teeth, I feel even happier! Read more [...]

I love foreign films. Palm Trees in the Snow is a Spanish romantic drama by Fernando González Molina. The screenplay is based on the novel of the same name, Palmeras en la nieve, by Luz Gabás. I almost wish I had read the book first. Since books are always better than the movie, the book must be amazing.
This movie starts in 1968 and picks up again in 2003 with flashbacks to 1954. I love when books are written like this but have found it seems difficult to translate this style of writing Read more [...]

Sebastian Maniscalco, Comedian
May 22, 2020 by Jean Oshima
This guy is so funny! I just randomly picked a sample from YouTube below but that's the thing about Sebastian Maniscalco - everything he does is funny. You can just Google his name and select from any of his appearances on late night tv shows, standup, etc.. His onstage antics are hilarious which puts him the category of one comedian I would want to see in person.
Follow him on Instagram. He posts quite a bit with his beautiful wife, Lana. He's also on Netflix. A lot. Watch them all.
